Nexus One firmware is still at Version 2.2.2 and looks like it will still take some time before we get the Gingerbread version. Google is still not making the Version 2.3 firmware available to Nexus One. Only the latest Nexus S is getting the Version 2.3 firmware.
Apple do things differently, they will ensure all iPhones(old & new) get the necessary updates. Google need to ensure that the Nexus S and old Nexus One both get the updates to the latest android software.
Nexus One users will have to use their Version 2.2.2 till an update is available for them.
Android Market has now more than 50,000 of applications and games to offer to its Android users. It is now currently the second best after Apple Application Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. More mobile manufacturers are also releasing Android Phones into the market at competitive prices.
Games that are available in the Apple Apps Store are most likely to be available in the Android Market. But most Android Users around the world will only be allowed to access the free apps. HTC Magic is really more than a powerful phone pack with many features. It is definitely much better than my first Sony Ericsson W910i. W910i is also packed with a lot of features and HTC Magic is able to match it. But HTC Magic can do much more than what W910i is not able to. HTC Magic allowed me to surf web pages just I like on my computer. The W910i web browser may crash if I surf web pages with lots of images or graphics.
The Phone Book in HTC Magic allows me unlimited entry while the rest of phone will limit me to 1000 contacts. Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate is another great function that I like on HTC Magic. It allowed me to view web pages better just by rotating the screen. The HSDPA also allowed me to surf websites and download data much faster than my W910i.
The Android Market have many applications that allowed us to maximize the phone capabilities beyond what we can imagine the phone can do. With W910i, I am stuck with the features and applications provided by the manufacturer unless there is a upgrade of firmware with new features. I can now tap into the Android Markets for applications or games to boost my HTC Magic capabilities.
